3 week old miracle from Haiti

I am feeling good today...day 1 into my mission of realizing my resolutions.
Woke up...daily news from Daily papers. saw this news article of this 3 week old miracle from Haiti, Elisabeth Joassaint being rescued out of the ruble after 7 days when rescuers heard faint cries....
Awww....indeed a mirable. God bless this baby. :)

Just thoughts

Whenever I wanted to blog, it always comes as a surprise attack, when I have this brain full of ideas of what to say like something big enough for me to blog properly.

Getting to think that it's kinda straying away from my original plan to blog down my simple thoughs of the day...daily dosages of queenbee.

Having to be a complete stay at home wife for now, felt that I am still quite lack of what it takes to be a proper mum. Look at Jojo and May, so fully committed, and here I am, staying at my own house, typing all I want..., sounds luxurious..I really felt shameful of what I am doing.

Anyways, I have this huge problem (to me, it is). Weetabix wanted to travel and I sort of agreed to, but then come to realise that I am going to miss seeing Andre for more than 2 weeks - going to be a torture..have been mulling for the past few days on "to go or not to go"

1. Go and I will miss Andre for 15 days.
2. Not to go and I will miss Japan for the rest of my life. (well, at least for a few yrs)

Damn...I am really in a pickle.

I was again, going thru my routine to read the daily news and still, there are fresh reports on a Haiti quake...this report caught my eye...cos usually, I do not have enuf courage to read all these sad stories.

The report on this boy, who was trapped in the ruble for more than 7 days and he survived. When rescuers found him and got him out, he was actually smilling and all he wanted was a big, human hug!!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1244660/Haiti-earthquake-Schoolgirl-looter-Fabienne-Geismar-killed-bullet-head.html

Tears of joy...well, to all ppl who think that work is tiring, endless, shitty, this picture should make u think twice about grumbling...we are so lucky and I should not be complaining about making stupid choices of travelling and being fat.

Resolutions for the yr:

1. Reflect on my mistakes
2. Diet and wear back my old clothes.
3. Start early on exam prep.
4. Learn how to drive
5. Find a new job.
6. Love weetabix,Andre and family more (Not that I love them less now...I meant more!)
7. Actions speaks more than blogs.
8. Love the environment.
9. Draw up a proper learning plan for Andre.
10. Polish up my baking skills
11. Complete pt 1-10 by 2010 Q2

2nd day of 2010

I think I am used to post on my blog..."It has been a long time since I last blog". Again...the excuse? I am just too busy. As much as I would like to keep track of Andre growing by writing posts of daily or weekly happenings, I never really sat down to do it, though I have tons of photos of him which I managed to organise by placing them in folders by month.

For the past year, it has been a mad rush. Mornings will start at 6am, follow by work..., end the work day at 6pm, rush down to momsy at 7pm, Andre's time till 10pm, return back home, knock out ay 12am or it will be classes till 10pm...go home, knock out. Weekends will be classes or typical sundays...wake up7am, mad rush to prepare for Andre's stuff, out by 9am to Orchard, all the way till 3pm, Grandma's house till 7pm, back to BB for dinner, settle Andre down by 10pm, and back to bed by 12am.. whoosie....I can't believe that I actually done it for at least 18 months since Andre's arrival and that does not include mad rush for project assignments and exams prep...which everyone should know..when it's exam, I am like a bear in hibernation...totally no food and stepping out from house till exam day.

Now, I've finally popped my decision to my boss, and yay! I am free now. I am a official SAHM like Jojo and May! How great is that!!!
I have time, I have kitchen, messy house, oven, more time!!!
Blogging world, here I come!!! :)

Baby Yoplait

Wanted to go to the zoo on my birthday, but had a bit of luck as I managed to get the staff pass for the weekend, so off we go, this time with 2 more peeps, sis and ben.

Don't really have the pictures now as they are with my sis, so for now, digress a bit...after visiting the zoo, we headed back to the west side, railway mall for food, don't really wanted pub food, so we opt for the "EAT" eatery which sells mee pok. Not bad, or probably it's because I was hungry? While waiting patiently for Lawrence to finish his noodles, I decided to bring Andre to next door's cold storage for some cool air-con..walking down the aisle, I was talking quite loud to myself.." Wah, youghurt so expensive ar...NTUC selling at $5.95 and here says $6.95 on offer?!"

Well, different target audience, I say... peeps who come here can well afford the price difference. It's bukit timah, D21 lor.

But soon, I was glued to something, baby yoghurt. I think it's something that most parents cannnot or just simply refuse to resist. Anything they feel that's its good for their children.

Well, it says on the pack that :

1. all natural
2. Suitable for babies above 6 months
3. No added sugar

Come to think of it, I was quite attracted to the package and not yogurt given that Andre has tried normal yoghurt already (by the way, he tried loads of stuff - cucumbers, ketupat, durian, shaved ice, rock melon, honey dew, apple (in bites, not scrapped), whole bananas, guava...grapes, strawberries, cherries, sushi rice, bread in chunks, baby biscuits, rice crackers..) not to worry anyway, its all in small quanties & I do make sure I monitor the after effect (eg: poop, colour of poop, rashes or any) So far so good.

Here's a few pics taken. Love it...he doesn't really like it as the yoghurt was quite tasteless, which I had to down the entire tub when he started to push away his spoon.

Looks yums! More info: http://www.yoplait.com.au/multipacks.aspx?b=1048&ID=1096

Sunnies for me!

Some snaps that I really have to load up in my blog.

We passed by this french...erm, I think so, shop for children's clothes on sale after lunch. They sold loads of nice, really nice..in fact gorgeous clothes for babies, toddlers, children...jumper, knit wear, swimsuits... and sunnies! So you can quite imagine what am I going to do....no need to ask much..

Took a family photo together. We tried so hard. Lawrence was carrying Andre, I was trying to position the camera in the right angle. Nevertheless, it was fun and not too bad, we managed to capture the expressions. Going to do this more... :)

A lazy afternoon at Fairmont

It's been a week since I've finished my exams, and I did not really get to celebrate, so this morning, we decided to have something more pricey.... high tea at Fairmont.

Before that, we stopped by Robinson's. As usual, the children's dept to stock up Andre's pacifiers and we saw, ring stackers from NUK on sale, so we decided to get one too. Somehow, the colours just attracted my eyes, and I was stuck. Moreover, the price is good ($5.60 before 20% discount).

Food is ok, nothing really much to rave about, but perhaps they do have good service. Asked if we wanted a corner seat by ourselves, high stool for Andre, warm water for him, refilled my tea several times...quite relaxing, I must say, as the crowd is quite a good size, unlike ellenborough market cafe, you really have to be quick a little to get your food.

Ya..what is daddy doing? Scroll down to reveal...

Initially, we thought that he would only take a small bite, but he really took a BIG one, I guess with some char siew inside. This boy really knows how to enjoy.

What a nice way to spend this lazy warm afternoon....not every saturday ok...

Who moved my cheese..cake?

Finally, its the end of my year 2. I can relax a bit, so here's to regain the life in my blog again, I hope.

Andre has been trying out a lot of solids now. Not really, entirely healthy, but just exposing him to slightly stronger flavoured food bit by bit..

I am still here

Again, I feel that my blogging starts only the time when I am having exams, or is it because I am only around my comp during exam? Kind of...cos getting Andre to sit quietly in his playpen is almost next to impossible. This baby loves being free to stomp about in the house, and I am sure it will win something if he is contesting in the baby crawling competition. No to any competition anyways, I always believe all babies are cute in their own ways. ~My personal thoughts~

Now, I am sitting in front of my PC, trying hard to update a whole load of backlog of photos. Photos come later, words come now as I do not have any time to edit photos now, going back to my exams revision soon. Trying to keep my mind awake as I am sitting in front of the study table for the past ... 2 weeks (including revision period for Ops Mgmt)....anything...wake me up

The one on being a Beckham Wannabe

I've always like to play Andre's hair after his meals, cos I know he's having his bath soon. Here's one shot I find it cute (Esp his expression). He is getting more & more expressive now. Momsy was telling me the other day when she was busy with preparing dinner, she had him in his playpen to sleep. He woke up about 20 minutes later, realizing there was no one beside him, around him, he started to bawl while half sticking him both legs out of the playpen...the sounds he made were similar to "pa pa & ma ma", so momsy actually thought he was crying for us. I think it's just him trying to mimic words that we taught him. Good boy!

Btw, back to the same topic I started off with - with a help of leftover water from Andre's cup (he has a small ceramic mug too that's has babies printed all over the cup) to 'style' his hair.

Am I cool, mummy?
